Diagnosis (9/24)

On Wednesday my mom, sister A, and I went to the oncologist to hear the results of her test. He told us that she has B-Cell, Aggressive Lymphoma in Stage 3. Now, while Aggressive doesn't sound like a good thing, it actually is. There were two types that she could have gotten. Aggressive is the curable one. The other kind isn't curable, but they can send it into remission. So, we were actually hoping for Aggressive - as strange as that sounds.

Then the doctor told us that they didn't get enough good tissue from the biopsy and so he wanted her to get a biopsy on one of the lymph nodes in her neck to get some more tissue. In fact, he had already gotten her an appointment with the surgeon at that very moment - so we were told to go upstairs.

When we met with the surgeon, he was thinking of scheduling the surgery for Monday, but instead he changed his mind rather quickly and squeezed mom in for the very next day.

So, once again the miracle of quick appointments and procedures. The Lord is truly watching out for my mom and taking care of her. I know that he will provide her with the strength to get through this.

The picture is of my nephew who loves his grandma and even gave her a kiss yesterday morning - he usually only reserves kisses for his mommy.
