How's She Doing? (10/15)

Sorry for the long absence. I have been completely swamped at work, been hanging out with my mom a lot, and have been helping my husband get ready to fly out for interviews tomorrow, so I haven't had time to update the blog.

My mom is doing okay. She is really tired and has no energy, which is a completely new experience for her. I don't think that my mom has ever not had any energy and she isn't very fond of it either.

She was a little worried about some pain that she's been having in her stomach, but her doctor told her that it was just because her tumors are shrinking. So, she said that it was okay that she was in pain - as long as the tumors were shrinking.

Dr. Phil, our family friend, got on her case about eating enough. My mom said that it's kind of hard to eat when nothing sounds good and lots of things taste like chemo (which can't be good).

This weekend my mom should lose her hair. She has been trying to prepare herself and stay positive. She keeps saying that at least she isn't young and vain (like her two pregnant daughters).

My mom is very appreciative of everyone's concern and kind wishes. (And she is currently piling up her Thank You card list - so like mom).

Thanks for all you do.

The picture is of my mom this past weekend along with a bunch of her grandkids, one dog, and one grand-dog.
